All of Hearing and Audiology‘s clinicians are university trained allied health professionals. Our audiologists are accredited by Medicare and the Australian Government. They are experts in hearing-related conditions and can assess, diagnose and treat hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis and other hearing-related problems in children and adults. All our clinicians are hearing aid experts. They also provide preventative hearing loss services such as WorkCover and pre-employment hearing tests and make custom earplugs. All our clinicians attend regular trainings and conferences to ensure they are at the forefront of hearing research and hearing loss treatments.

Hearing and Audiology has 5 audiologists that work across our Subiaco, Duncraig and Geraldton hearing clinics, and 1 audiometrist. Our clinicians’ specialisations include paediatric audiology and tinnitus assessment and management.
Audiologist – B.A.Dip.Ed., M.Aud., F.A.C.Aud., Member of Independent Audiologists Australia. Vivienne Sobon trained at the National Acoustics Laboratories and worked as an audiologist at Princess Margaret Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and at various Ear, Nose and Throat practices. She founded Hearing and Audiology in 1985 – the first private audiology clinic in Western Australia. For over 30 years she has been providing exceptional hearing services to the people of Perth and Geraldton. Viv is so passionate about helping people hear better, she has inspired her daughter Zoe and son Gabe to follow in her footsteps. Both are now clinicians and part owners at Hearing and Audiology. Viv has a special interest in tinnitus and hyperacusis. She has been involved in tinnitus treatments since they were first developed and has trained with world renown tinnitus expert Pawel Jastreboff, as well as with the creators of Neuromonics, a highly successful tinnitus treatment. Viv has an active social life and enjoys travelling. She is an avid reader and practices meditation and stays fit by doing lots of walking.
Audiologist – B.N., M.Clin.Aud, M.Aud.SA (CCP), Member of Independent Audiologists Australia. Zoe studied nursing at Edith Cowan University, beginning her working life as a theatre nurse in Perth’s hospitals. She then completed her Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia before joining Hearing and Audiology, the family business, where she has worked for over 18 years. Zoe is a highly skilled member of our team. She specialises in tinnitus assessment and treatment, having been trained by world renown tinnitus expert Pawel Jastreboff in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. She is also qualified inNeuromonics, a tinnitus treatment developed in Australia. Pawel Jastreboff has also trained Zoe in the assessment and treatment of hyperacusis. She is specially qualified to fit Lyric Hearing Aids, and has completed ENT wax removal training. She is constantly updating and upgrading her skills. When she has spare time she loves walking and reading, and is a Sci-Fi fan. She also loves Shiba Inu dogs, and is a proud owner of Oggie, & a yet to be named new puppy.
Audiometrist – Cert IV Aud, Dip HDPE, B Aud, M.A.C. Aud. Gabe completed his Cert IV in Audiometry in 2003, his a Diploma in 2010 and his Bachelor in 2014, all while working at Hearing and Audiology. He is an expert in custom earplugs and has also completed specialist training in wax removal and is currently working towards becoming a tinnitus counsellor. He is hardworking and knowledgeable. For Gabe, helping improve the quality of life of his clients creates a great deal of satisfaction in his work. He is a part owner of Hearing and Audiology, along with Zoe and Viv. His outside interests include; golf, squash, watching the Dockers play, an interest in finance, and staying fit enough to keep up with his two young boys!
Audiologist – B.Sc.(Hon), M.Clin.Aud, M.Aud.SA (CCP). Kerryn studied Anatomy and Human Biology at the University of Western Australia, graduating with Honours. While completing her Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, studying Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infections). She then worked at Australian Hearing, where she completed specialist training in Paediatric Audiology and the management of Complex Services Clients. Kerryn joined Hearing and Audiology as a Senior Audiologist in 2005, and has now been working with us for over 12 years. She works primarily at our Duncraig hearing clinic, seeing clients on Wednesdays and Fridays, and visits our Subiaco hearing clinic one day a month. She specialises in children’s hearing tests and hearing loss. Outside of work Kerryn is the mother of two beautiful children, who keep her very busy! When she has time, she enjoys cooking and photography.
Audiologist – B.Sc., M.Clin.Aud, M.Aud.SA (CCP). Kristen studied Human Biology and Biomedical Science at Edith Cowan University, graduating in 2010. She then completed her Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia before beginning work at Hearing and Audiology in 2013. Kristen has also obtained a Diploma of Auslan and Auslan Interpreting from Central Tafe in Perth, meaning she is able to use sign language to communicate with our clients. She has an interest in Paediatric Audiology and is currently upgrading her skills with our Paediatric Audiology Specialist Kerryn. Before starting at Hearing and Audiology, she worked for the Department of Education with Deaf and DeafBlind children. She has also volunteered at DeafBlind camps and conferences, working with both children and adults. When she is not helping our clients she enjoys scuba diving and camping. She is an active member of her local surf club and has a sweet tooth, which she feeds by baking.
Tina van Dam
Audiologist – B.Sc., M.Clin.Aud, M.Aud.SA (CCP). Tina completed her Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia. She has been working at Hearing and Audiology for over 8 years, and is a much-loved member of the team. She is always friendly and willing to go the extra mile for her clients, making her much loved by them as well.
Audiologist – B.Sc., M.Clin.Aud, M.Aud.A (CCP). Chantelle studied Human Biology and Physiology at the University of Western Australia, graduating in 2015. She then completed her Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Western Australia. During her studies, Chantelle completed two placements with the team at Hearing and Audiology, then joined as a full-time clinician upon completion of her Masters in 2017. Chantelle is a friendly and bubbly clinician who enjoys working in aural rehabilitation. She has specialist training in Lyric Hearing Aids – an invisible hearing solution worn 24/7. Outside of work, Chantelle likes to keep active through social and club netball. She also enjoys wining and dining, as well as cooking for her family and friends.
