Education Sessions For Doctors

Doctors, especially GPs, play an important role in the prevention, detection and managment of hearing loss. GPs are often the first point of contact for patients with hearing difficulties and are ideally placed to monitor at risk individuals, screen for hearing loss and assess individual’s readiness to seek help. New research is continually being published about hearing and hearing loss and keeping up to date with the quantity of new studies is challenging, especially given GPs already considerable workload. Hearing and Audiology offer education sessions for doctors, provided by one of our audiologists, to help you stay informed. These sessions, based on critical evaluations of the current literature, are designed to be short, around 15 minutes in length, and can cover a number of topics, including:

  • The role of GPs in the detection and managment of hearing loss
  • Hearing loss and diabetes
  • Hearing loss and cardiovascular disease
  • Hearing loss and smoking
  • Tinnitus
  • Hyperacusis

If you have another topic you would like presented please contact us (08) 9388 8003 or medical@hearingwa.com.au to see if we can assist you.

If you would like to arrange an education session from one of our audiologists please call (08) 9388 8003 or email medical@hearingwa.com.au with the topic you would like presented and we will contact you to organise a date and time. We currently offer education sessions to doctors located in the Perth metro area or in Geraldton.
