Siemens reports the latest Bimax Hearing Aid platform, provides hearing aid wearers with up to 25% better speech recognition in cocktail party situations, than people with normal hearing, by using real time exchange of audio signals among 4 microphones – 2 on each hearing aid.

The narrow directionality focuses more precisely on speech in front of the wearer, and highlights dominant speech from any direction, while suppressing background noise. (e.g. in the car) The hearing aids provide better performance in wind, by transmitting audio signals from the better side to the wind affected ear.

You can turn your mobile phone into a remote control for your hearing aid – adjust volume, treble, or select a hearing programme from your hearing aid. Free download available from your app store.

Siemens is also well known for its water resistant hearing aid The Aqarius. With a specially made ear mould, you can even swim with the hearing aid.

Also available is an e-charger which recharges and dehumidifies your hearing instruments overnight, so you don’t need to worry about changing batteries.
