Rebates for Hearing Tests
If you require a hearing test you may be entitled to a rebate.
Medicare Rebates for Hearing Tests
If you are referred to us by your GP on a complex care plan or if an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon or Neurologist has referred you for a hearing test there are some Medicare rebates available. Please be aware that the cost of seeing your GP or an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon can be more expensive than the amount Medicare will rebate, so unless you already have one of these referrals we do not suggest you go out of your way to get one. You do not need a referral to see an audiologist.
Private Health Insurance Rebates for Hearing Tests
If you are a member of a private health fund you may be eligible for a rebate on an assessment or on hearing aids. Please contact your health fund directly to see if you qualify for any rebates. No matter what health fund you are with, you can still see Hearing and Audiology, and as long as your insurance covers hearing assessments or hearing aids, you are eligible for that rebate.
Australian Pensioners and Veterans
If you are an Australian Pensioner or Veteran you are entitled to free hearing services, including hearing aids, through the Hearing Services Program. We can provide these services. Please see our Pensioners and Veterans page for more information.
